This Is It: This Is The Most Incredible Day Of Your Life!

Why is this the most incredible day of your life? Because it’s the only one you’ve got!

Today is the only day that you can serve another person, find meaning and live your life’s purpose! Honestly, this is it, whether you like it or not, this very moment is all you have--it is your life. Many people postpone loving others because it might be embarrassing, postpone their happiness because they are too busy or stressed. In doing so, they postpone their lives!!!

Recently I ran into a neighbor and in the course of our conversation I told him of the woes we were experiencing with building a new house. After, I finished giving the run down, I asked about him. He indicated that just two days previous his wife had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and had only weeks to live. Man was I slapped back into reality! I gave words of comfort, offered help, and reassured him of our love and prayers.

While driving home, I reflected on the trivial nature of my worries and reflected on what really is most important in life? As I walked into my house, I reminded myself that this is the greatest day of my life, because it’s the only one I have to love others and find purpose and meaning.

Why is it that death has to teach us to live? In the great book Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch Albom shares this profound wisdom from his teacher Morrie Schwartz:

“So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they’re busy doing things they think are important. This is because they’re chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.”

Everyone will die, but not everyone will live! Choose to live well my friend. Choose to live NOW!

This Month’s Challenge:

1. For one week, try getting up first thing in the morning and saying to your self with energy and conviction, “This is the most incredible day of my life, because it’s the only one I have to serve and contribute. I have so many people and things to be grateful for! I am very blessed.” For extra credit, do it again in the afternoon. 2. When someone asks you how you are doing say, “It’s the most incredible day of my life!”
3. Consciously choose to serve another person each day.
